STUDENT AWARDS
Dorothy Morallos, a Civil and Environmental Engineering undergraduate in her senior year, was recently awarded the National Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS) Louise Moritz Molitoris Leadership Award for Undergraduates. This past October, Dorothy was also presented with WTS's Greater New York Chapter's Undergraduate Leadership Award. Dorothy will be presented with the National Molitoris Leadership Award at the Annual WTS Conference to be held in Dallas, Texas this May. Both the National and Greater New York Chapter's Louise Moritz Molitoris Leadership Award is awarded to an undergraduate woman pursuing her studies in a transportation-related field. Most importantly, the award recognizes this young woman's leadership skills, achievements, and contributions within the transportation industry.
Congratulations to the 2004 Rutgers University Steel Bridge Team for winnign 2nd place at the Regional competition held at the NJIT campus. Congratulations also to the Rutgers University Canoe Team who finished 3rd at the Regional Competitions held at Rowan University. The Rutgers Bridge and Canoe Teams included seniors, juniors, and sophomores. They worked long hours to analyze, design, fabricate, and construct their bridge and canoe at the CEE Structural Engineering Laboratory on the Busch Campus. The Rutgers University Bridge Team was invited to the National competition held at the Colorado School of Mines. The Rutgers Bridge Team is already working on its design for the 2006 Regional Competitions to be held on the Busch Campus at Rutgers University. The Rutgers University Canoe Team is already working on the design of the 2006 Canoe to be held on the campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University.
CHI EPSILON EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING AWARDDr. Najm was the recipient of the 2003 Chi-Epsilon James Robin Metropolitan Teaching in Excellence Award. The award was presented at the Chi Epsilon Conclave held at Purdue University in March 2003. |
