CEE Welcomes New Faculty Member

Nicole Fahrenfeld joins Rutgers Civil and Environmental Engineering from a postdoctoral appointment studying the dissemination of antibiotic resistance at the watershed scale.   Her research is performed at the interface of environmental microbiology and environmental chemistry to improve our understanding of contaminant fate and transport in surface water, groundwater, and the built environment.  She has contributed a variety of projects including fecal coliform source tracking and remediation of contaminated sediments.  As a native New Jerseyan, Nicole is happy to have the opportunity to continue her work promoting sustainable water systems in New Jersey.
