Under Cover Transport and Accumulation of Frazil Granules:
Discussion

Summary
The authors of this paper have developed a concept of undercover ice-transport
capacity by analogy to bed sediment transport; this is the first systematic
analysis ever conducted. The discusser wishes to make two comments regarding
the analysis.
- No distinction is necessary between the bed load transport
formulas for low-density and high-density sediments in developing unercover
ice-transport capacity
- Shear stress on the underside of the jam was probably
overestimated by the authors
