Project Summary

The objective of this modeling study is to establish waste load allocations for a proposed sewage treatment plant (STP) at Commercial Township, NJ that discharges into the Lower Maurice River Estuary.

          The scope of study includes development of Lower Maurice River Estuary Model through calibration and validation of hydrodynamic and water quality components using available field data. The USEPA WASP 5.0 (The Water Quality Analysis Simulation Program) will be used as a modeling tool for this estuary.  The end product of this study will be a calibrated and verified Lower Maurice River Estuary water quality model and a report discussing the impacts of proposed Commercial Township STP discharges on the Maurice River Estuary water quality.
